Xcel Drylock Wetsuit of the Year

Wetsuit of the Year:
Xcel Wins 2010 Wetsuit of the Year

Xcel's INFINITI DRYLOCK has won 'Wetsuit of the Year' once again at the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association (SIMA) Image Awards, honoring the best of the surf industry from 2010.

The win was announced Thursday, February 3, 2011 during the Image Awards ceremony held at the House of Blues Anaheim.
Xcel has now won 'Wetsuit of the Year' three out of the four years it has been a SIMA Image Award category, having previously been honored for the INFINITI DRYLOCK (2008) and the INFINITI (2007).

'Wetsuit of the Year' is awarded to the wetsuit retailed in 2010 that featured the most exciting design, appeal, or innovation. The INFINITI DRYLOCK was first nominated by industry retail and manufacturing experts, and ultimately chosen as Image Award winner by a vote of 300 specialty retailers and SIMA member manufacturing companies.

The INFINITI DRYLOCK was chosen from fellow 'Wetsuit of the Year' nominees Quiksilver, O'Neill, Rip Curl, and Billabong.
The SIMA Image Awards is the only awards program giving the surf industry the opportunity to recognize fellow companies for their efforts to advance and grow the industry.

"We're excited and proud to be honored by our industry once again," says Xcel president Ed D'Ascoli. "Our focus on delivering the best possible product ensures that our wetsuit innovations and technologies are constantly evolving in terms of warmth, performance, stretch, and beyond. So it's a real honor having our peers recognize the INFINITI DRYLOCK line as it's evolved from year to year."

The INFINITI DRYLOCK fullsuit features Xcel's all new Water-Repellent Fiber (WRF), with material fibers that resist saturation and last longer than alternative water-repellent coatings. Also new to the INFINITI DRYLOCK is an inner geometric patterned ankle seal, which drastically cuts down on flushing.
In keeping with Xcel's goal of minimizing product impact on the environment, all INFINITI DRYLOCK wetsuits feature Xcel's eco-friendly ThermoBamboo inner lining, and cleaner limestone-based neoprenes and glues.

"Top-quality product that works has always been what Xcel is all about," says Greg Wade, Xcel sales and marketing vice president.

"Industry recognition is especially rewarding to everyone whose efforts help us continually deliver that product," continues Wade, "from the support and dedication of our retailers and staff to our team riders getting in the water and testing Xcel gear at the highest levels of performance.
