With four-way stretch fabric for dynamic movement, our versatile, performance-focused Stretch Planing Boardshorts feature a slimmer profile with minimal drag. Similar to our trusted Wavefarer® Boardshorts design but with a performance fit that maximizes stretch and minimizes seams, the superlight Stretch Planings are made of a durable, fast-drying 91% recycled polyester/9% spandex blend with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish and 50+ UPF sun protection. We’ve also replaced a traditional, multipiece waistband and fly with a fused waistband that eliminates a fabric layer and conforms to the shape of the hips, staying snug to the body through a full range of motion. A forward inseam helps eliminate chafing, and the articulated outseam design moves more naturally with the body. Self-draining pocket on right hip has an internal key loop and a corrosion-proof plastic zipper with pull cord; the shorts can also pack into the pocket for travel ease. A notched hem provides additional mobility through the leg. Outseam is 19". Fair Trade Certified™ sewn.

The streamlined performance fit is optimized to reduce binding and chafing, and we’ve replaced a traditional, multipiece waistband and fly with a fused waistband that eliminates a fabric layer and conforms to the shape of the hips, staying snug to the body through a full range of motion. For travel ease, the shorts can also pack snugly into the small pocket on the seat, which has an internal key loop and a non-corroding, recyclable plastic zipper with pull cord for ease of use. A notched hem provides additional mobility through the leg.
