  • Torq x Channel Islands  Chancho 7'0 X-Lite

Whether new to surfing or just looking to enjoy a cruisy session, the all-new Torq Chancho is a super user-friendly, stable board that catches waves with ease. The Chancho boasts generous volume for its mid length size, and features low nose rocker for early wave entry. Its subtle vee-bottom contours that run through the fins help it turn effortlessly.

An offspring of the popular Water Hog model, the Chancho is available in X-Lite construction.

    TORQ X-LITE TECHNOLOGY

X-Lite is a torq Epoxy technology developed specifically for performance boards. This is lighter, stronger and more Eco than a traditional PU/Polyester board, now with a 50% thinner Shield Skin for weight reduction. This innovative technology is used exclusively on the X-Lite Channel Islands models; the best selling Pod Mod and all new Chancho.

The Pod Mod features an Impact Mesh layer on the deck for strength and ding resistance, the Chancho features a Carbon Strip on the deck for longitudinal strength and responsiveness.

  • The M2 has all the elements of a performance longboard in a much more compact package.

The center of the board is fairly straight and flat – this is the paddle and trim area, the functional section. At the front there’s a wide longboard nose with a single concave underneath – perfect for nose rides. From the mid-point back the template narrows into a round tail with a double concave vee underneath making this mini malibu super maneuverable off the tail.

A true Mini Malibu for all surfers in waves of 1ft to double overhead. The 4/3 set-up allows ultimate fin versatility.

  • Torq Channel Islands M23 7'0"

The M23 comes from the storied M13 bloodlines, a favorite hybrid board Al Merrick made for himself and rode variants of for decades from fun Rincon to maxing Sunset. A true high performance hybrid that caters to the widest possible type and size of surfer - and for the widest range of wave conditions. Not to be confused with the CI Mid, the M23 carries more foam, boasting a fuller rail and sleeker nose outline. It paddles like a champ while still riding more like a shortboard.

    ECOSKIN TECH:

    • Aloha Surfboards ECOSKIN Technology is a small step toward producing surfboards that are manufactured with more Earth Friendly ethics.

    • Paulownia timber is perfectly suited as a sustainable alternative in surfboard production due to it's naturally high strength to weight ratio! One of the fastest growing trees in the world Paulownia production places less stress on the environment saving water and natural resources!

    • Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) foam is very light and strong. EPS foam has more buoyancy and flotation increasing paddling speed and maneuverability.

    • Epoxy Resin is a healthier alternative to polyester as epoxy emits 50-75% fewer VOCs, decreasing the amount of harmful chemicals released into the environment.

    • ECOSKIN Surfboards are utilising less toxic materials during production and through these measures we are taking steps to decrease our carbon foot print.

  • Torq Tec Rusty Egg Not - White

Simply put, the Egg Not is a squash tail version of our mid-length board, the eGG. With the increasing popularity of mid-lengths, we decided it was more or less a given that we offer a squash tail mid-length board. The Squash tail adds a little more area, lengthens the rail line, and has a more pivoty feel compared to a roundtail. The Egg Not is a great board to have in your quiver. When the surf is average, you’ll have plenty of wave catching ability and it will carry through sections but the board will still be loose enough to turn with ease. As a plus, when the surf gets a bit bigger, it still works surprisingly well! The Egg Not features a relaxed rocker on the front end of the board which helps with paddle speed, wave catching, and overall glide. The curve is a bit above average which translates to helping tighten the arc of your turns without giving up speed. The thickness of the board is a little on the thin side for a board this size. These leaner rails make the board easier to put in the water and also helps it hold better in bigger surf. Fin setup here is your call. For a higher performance feel we recommend a 4-fin setup. If you’re looking for something a little cruisier or more traditional feel do a 2 plus one setup.

    TEC - TORQ EPOXY COMPOSITE

Torq Epoxy Composite offers performance shapes in our state-of-the-art epoxy layup. These boards have the best balance of Lightweight versus Durability. Using our own unique lamination process, we are able to use a very strong fiberglass lay-up of 6oz and 4oz combined in 3 layered deck and 2 layered base (with a 4 layered rail lap) with a high density EPS foam, but still achieve a board weight that matches a lightweight fiberglass lay-up.

The result is light but very strong board, with good flex characteristics and as with all torq's, excellent value for money.

The TEC shortboards have 2 full layers of fiber over the deck and bottom. On the deck we use an extra 6oz deck patch with gives triple layer ding resistance, but doesn't resist the flex along the rail. The addition of a carbon filament stringer and UD carbon twin strips on the base makes these super springy and responsive.
